Stuctral Problems!

Tile Popping Up
I am worried my house might be having issues. It is showing six of the thirteen signs listed below. I have heard this can be costly, good thing I married an accountant and we have the savings, its just not much fun to spend on something like this.

The National Association of Waterproofing and Structural Repair Contractors says you could have foundation problems if you experience any of the following:

Sticky or squeaky doors.
A door sill that separates from the frame.
Windows that stick. Raise and lower the windows in each room, open and close all doors. Do they fit squarely without binding?

Crack in Sheetrock
Cracks in interior walls near corners of doors or windows. Look at all the corners of windows and doors, and at joints where walls meet walls, ceilings or doors for signs that they are pulling away from each other. Also look for cracks in a brick fireplace wall.

Nails Popping Out
Nails popping out of sheetrock or gypsum board. Examine walls and ceilings for evidence that nails may be working themselves loose.
Curling or separating wallpaper.
Curling and tearing of existing sheetrock repairs.
Leaks and cracks in and around the fireplace.

Caulk Pulling Away
Cracks in the exposed concrete grade beam of the house. Check the exposed concrete at the base of the house for cracks. If there are only small cracks, they may also be nonstructural, but they may also be the first indication of trouble.
Caulking that pulls away from exterior surfaces.
Nails popping out of corner frames.

Cracks in Brick
Obvious cracks in brick and mortar.
Cracks and uneven elevations in structures attached to patios.

After having a professional look at the house the only issue is the crack in the brick. Everything else is the house naturally shifting and can be fixed with a little caulk and paint. Well except the tile, it will nee to be replaced. Total cost $1,500!!! Not bad at all.

    Staging

    Before

    After

When staging your house start with the front yard. Cleaning up a little will go a long way.
If you have the time and money put a little more effort into it and add mulch for texture and annuals for color.
Just remember to keep it simple, it is easy to over do it!

    Next Big Project

I couldn't find a bed room set that I just loved so I am creating my own. With help of family and friends, I think this is going to be the best room in the house.
Here is a sneak peak at what Grandma is helping out with.
Now we just need to find the time to get together and work on it.

    Weekend Project

My goal for the weekend is to decide which room to set up as Madi's room and make her Mobile for above her freshly painted crib.
    Wish Me Luck:)

    Baby Room Ideas

Some big news hit my husband and I this last summer... time to prepare for a new member of the family. Later we found out that we are expecting a girl and I quickly began planning her room.
These are just a few ideas I pulled together.
Come back later and I will have pictures of the actual room:)

    School Work

This is my old entertainment center that I designed and built my sophomore year in school for furniture design class. I recently upgraded because the TV was upgraded and now I am looking for a new owner for this custom piece.
