What Is Up And Coming For Duo Designs

Dear Followers
We have been working on and off towards our ultimate goal of owning our own business for three years now and we think we are ready to go from hobby to business. We are working on the paper work making it all legal with hopes to be up and running next month, September.

Our goals are to refinish furniture, building custom furniture, and commercial/residential interior design service and consulting. We are working on pricing at the moment and we are taking into account that we are not registered interior designers yet. Amber is working towards her registration and hopes to have it by January 2010 and Jessica is working towards a Masters in Architecture and getting her registration in interior design, this way Duo Designs will be more then just Interiors.

We also have more furniture and design work coming to the Blog soon so stay posted to see what we have been working on. Things like a desk and layout for a home office, a girls nursery, a retro buffet, and much more furniture.

Radio/ Turn Table

This piece of furniture was on the side of the road when my uncle picked it up along with two other radios. He kept one, gave one to my grandmother, and the third went to me… and this is how it all turned out.

A Little Charity Work

We participated in a little charity work through the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). The Oklahoma City’s first annual IIDA Colour & Couture Fashion Show… blurring the lines between architecture, interior design and fashion by using finish materials to create original couture.

We might have been on separate teams but we both produced some amazing outfits and helped raise money for Positive Tomorrows.

So We Have A Small Chair Obsession...

Any time we see a chair that we like we take it in and give it a good home. We are working on a few other chair projects at the moment but these a just a few that have been completed.

The “Outdoor Chairs” where found in the dumpster at work, the “Dinning Room Chairs” have been in the family for a long time, and the “Sara’s Chair” was donated to use for renovation and is going to a good friend who will use it as a prop in here photography studio.
